Stanton Parent Association Volunteer Opportunities

Parents involvement with Stanton School has created a great parent/school relationship. One of the easiest and best ways to become involved at Stanton School is through a SPA committee. We are always looking for parents who want to lend a hand.

Can you only help on weekends? Only have a couple of hours available? No matter how much time you have to commit, there is a way for you to help! Please take a look at the list below and see how you can help!

Not sure what committee you want to be on? Or you can only commit, as little as, an hour. That's OK. We have a "worker bee" list! It's a group of parent that can help pitch in to lend a hand to a committee or event that needs assistance.

Chairs and Committees

Halloween Carnival: Committee chair/co-chairs needed

Movie Night: assist with set up and food sales, and clean up

Picture Day: parents needed to escort children from class to stage to get photos taken. Assist with crowd control in cafeteria.

Vision screening: parents needed to assist the vision screeners in any way they are needed.

Noon Supervision: sometimes can turn to paid position. Supervise during recess and monitor lunchroom and halls

Translators: various languages are spoken at our school. We need volunteers willing to be called upon to help interpret for various reasons

Room Parents: Need lead room parent for each classroom to help coordinate classroom activities and to do phone trees for other events

Book Fair: help the Librarian with sales

FAME: Docents and Art Helpers needed. Coordinators needed

SCRIP: Sales and promotion help needed.

Box Tops: Promotion help needed

Walk A Thon: Coordination and general help needed

Fall Catalog Sales: assists with after-school pick up dates and times

A’s Tickets: assist in sales and promotion

Pre-Registration: assist with packet assembly in late May. Assist with registration in late August

Yearbook: Assist in the planning, promotion, and sales of the school annual

See’s Candy: assist with sales

BBQ: coordinator and workers needed

Safety Task Force: Coordinator needed. International Walk to school day pancake breakfast and education. Other needs to be determined

Recycling: promote and organize drop off and delivery of ink cartridges, cell phones and toners

Science: assist in organizing and stocking the lab, and decorating

Disaster: assist with organization of shed, reordering of supplies

Buildings & Grounds: physical labor. Cleaning, fixing, building, painting, etc.

Hospitality: donation of food at various times of the year (for Open House and Back to school night, Teacher Appreciation)

Family Nights: coordinator and helpers needed

Friday Reading Incentives: put out books every Friday and write down student selections for the newsletter

Wamoola: assist in collecting/returning bins and counting deposits

Clerical: alphabetizing forms in September

SPA Officers: Always looking for new and interested parents to step on board

Variety Show: Coordinator needed

5^th Grade Affairs: Assist in the coordination of events during the year

Musical: Assist director and staff with props, and other needed items

CV Rodeo Parade: Coordinator needed
