Virginia Allerton explained the how the school lunch program continues to improve in Castro Valley. She is continually looking for new food products that meet the standards required by federal and state law, that are appealing to children, and most importantly, that are nutritious.

Over recent years, the school district has significantly changed the beverages offered in the schools. They have implemented salad bars and additional choices for the children.

Ms. Allerton welcomes constructive suggestions and looks forward to continuing to make lunches better for our children.
