Before you arrive at your parent-teacher conference,
have the questions in mind that you want to ask your
teacher. Here are a few to get your started.
1. In general, what are the skills and
knowledge that will be covered this year?
2. Is my child meeting required
standards? If not, are there additional materials that
you could recommend for home use?
3. How do you evaluate the students?
4. How do you accommodate differences in
learning?
5. Does my child participate in class
discussions and activities?
6. How much homework do you require?
7. What kind of book reports and other
large-scale projects do you do?
8. Does my child get along with the other
students?
9. How can I support teachers' efforts in
implementing higher academic standards?
10. Is there anything I can do to help
you in the classroom?
11. What is the best way (e.g., phone
calls, notes) for me to stay in contact with you?
