excellent descriptions of many aspects of nature that
can be found right in our back yard.

is the quarterly magazine dedicated to exploring the
natural world of the San Francisco Bay Area. Their
website also has lots of fascinating information about
the natural sites all around us.
The
Castro Valley Community Action Network (CVCAN!) (www.cvcan.net)
is a community and school based coalition that was
established in 2003 to reduce substance abuse among
Castro Valley Youth by addressing the risk factors that
lead to drug use and promoting solutions that will lead
to a Drug-Free Castro Valley.
Castro Valley Educational Foundation (www.cvef.org).
The Castro Valley Educational Foundation is a
not-for-profit community organization of volunteers and
businesses dedicated to promoting excellence in the
education of students in the Castro Valley Unified
School District. We are exclusively educational and
charitable, and we generate and distribute contributions
from the entire community.
Common Sense Media (www.commonsensemedia.org).
Children are exposed to a lot of television, books,
movies, and computer games. Common Sense Media provides
families with the trustworthy
information they need to help manage their kids' media
lives.
Vazball
(www.vazball.com).
Vazball is a nonprofit basketball development that
provides a safe, disciplined, highly structured
environment where the participants can feel good about
working hard and improving their basketball skills. The
learner’s personal development is more important than
the game.
